Summary

Join CIM Group's Global Consultant Relations Team as a Vice President to cultivate and expand relationships with key stakeholders. This role, based in New York, Boston, or another East Coast city, involves strategic planning, business development, and relationship management with investment consulting firms. You will be responsible for maintaining existing relationships, developing new ones, and driving business growth. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in institutional relationship management, a strong understanding of the investment consulting landscape, and proven success in raising assets. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field required
  • ~10 years of experience, ideally 5+ years of institutional relationship management/ business development and/or other relevant experience
  • Track record of building and expanding relationships with investment consultants and fiduciaries in the United States
  • Appreciation for the trends and buying behavior of North American LPs with a track record of successfully raising assets
  • Series 7 & 63 Licenses required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational and presentation skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Naturally collaborative, quickly builds trust, operates with “balance of IQ and EQ” driven to achieve success as a team versus individually
  • Intellectually curious, possesses gravitas; hands-on, long-term oriented, desire to contribute beyond one’s role
  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize workload
  • Possess a high level of energy, discipline, tenacity and self-motivation
  • Operate with a high degree of integrity, pursue efforts for ongoing self-development and improvement

Responsibilities

  • Participate in strategic business planning to build and update overall team / individual firm plans
  • Partner with the Institutional Client Group to grow, diversify and retain business across consultants, OCIOs and select financial intermediaries
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Research / Field consulting teams and other influencers at assigned investment consulting firms
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of assigned investment consulting firms, including their business strategy and competitors, client roster, key decision makers/influencers and their biases, manager selection process, and communication preferences
  • Achieve and maintain buy ratings at assigned consulting firms to help drive assets/ flows. Leverage strong research ratings to engage strategically with field consultants to create ongoing commercial opportunities for the firm
  • Responsible for hosting meetings (virtually and in-person) and all pre- and post-follow-ups from meetings
  • Attend conferences. Communicate and act upon competitive intelligence or feedback relating to CIM, capabilities and market trends
  • Communicate with various CIM stakeholders to provide market / industry information and feedback to further enhance CIM’s investment capabilities and growth opportunities

Preferred Qualifications

Strong understanding of real estate, infrastructure and private markets preferred
