Join our team as the VP of Finance and lead a team of accounting professionals, providing comprehensive financial services to a large portfolio of community association clients. This hands-on role requires strong leadership, client management, and accounting expertise. You will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, and client service, while also managing the accounting department and ensuring client satisfaction. Requirements
- Possess an Accounting degree from a 4-year accredited college or university
- Have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accounting Manager or Controller
- Have experience supervising an accounting department with at least 5 employees
- Possess hands-on experience with mid to upper-tier accounting software packages
- Demonstrate experience with systems conversion and balance transfer
- Have exceptional computer skills (power user)
- Possess an excellent grasp of accounting theory and methods (accrual, cash, and modified cash)
- Have strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Have the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, high-growth environment
Responsibilities
- Ensure client contractual service deliverables, including the review and approval of monthly financial reports and annual budgets
- Manage the monthly pre-close and close processes, including the management company close
- Oversee the preparation process for annual budgets
- Manage the daily flow of financial service inquiries and requests
- Bill clients for services performed outside the service level agreement
- Drive client satisfaction and retention
- Recruit, hire, train, and mentor staff
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues
- Oversee and provide direction on delinquent account collections, communicating with association board members, and coordinating with third-party collection attorneys
- Manage the investment of association reserve funds and ensure cash flow for project needs
- Coordinate audit and tax services with external CPA firms
- Oversee all association banking services
- Manage the successful onboarding of new accounts
- Act as the primary financial consultant for community managers and Boards of Directors
- Recommend and implement process improvements
- Become a subject matter expert in the CINC platform for the delivery of accounting and financial management services
- Ensure financial controls are in place and functioning as designed
- Oversee payroll and coordinate with a third-party payroll provider
- Manage HR functions, including hiring, and coordinating with an external service provider
- Perform additional work-related tasks as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Possess a CPA designation or a graduate degree in accounting or a related field
