Summary
Join Shift4, a leader in commerce-enabling technology, as their Vice President of Procurement. You will lead and oversee the global procurement strategy, developing and executing best-in-class policies. This role involves optimizing supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effective sourcing, and collaborating with internal stakeholders. You will negotiate contracts, manage vendors, and identify cost-saving opportunities. The VP of Procurement will also lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This position requires extensive experience in procurement leadership, particularly within the technology sector, and strong leadership and communication skills. The role offers a remote work schedule with some domestic and international travel.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in procurement leadership roles, preferably within the complex technology, IT services, or enterprise procurement sectors
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management for both hardware and software
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, IT licensing agreements, SaaS models, and hardware lifecycle management
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to analyze market trends, financial data, and operational requirements to drive informed procurement decisions
- Experience in ERP systems, procurement software, and data-driven decision-making tools
Responsibilities
- Lead contract negotiations, vendor management, and procurement processes for hardware (e.g. payment devices, point-of-sale systems, servers, networking equipment, etc.) and software (e.g. SaaS, enterprise software, cloud services)
- Develop and execute a strategic procurement plan that aligns with the companyโs growth objectives and technology needs
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive favorable pricing, service-level agreements (SLAs), and innovative partnerships
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize spending
- Evaluate Shift4โs current holistic supplier portfolio and consolidate relationships where appropriate
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, industry regulations, and contractual obligations
- Work cross-functionally with product & technology, IT, finance, legal, and other departments to ensure alignment on procurement goals and strategies
- Develop and implement procurement metrics and KPIs to measure cost savings, supplier delivery performance, efficiency, and supplier quality
- Oversee procurement risk management, ensuring vendor reliability, business continuity, and cybersecurity best practices
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation consistent with the Shift4Way
- Stay informed on market trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to ensure the organization maintains a competitive procurement strategy
- Continually evaluate and enhance processes and procedures to maximize efficiencies
- Lead disruptive change and process improvement within the PMO and the functional areas of the business that support program execution activities
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Relevant experience within the Payments/FinTech industry
