Web Designer

Summary

Join Acquia as a Web Designer and play a key role in designing visually appealing and user-friendly web pages for Acquia.com and other digital properties. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs align with web & brand guidelines and marketing goals. The ideal candidate is passionate about design, detail-oriented, and proficient in modern web design tools and practices. You will create engaging and responsive web designs, translate business objectives into innovative web experiences, and collaborate with developers on front-end implementation. You will also conduct user research, develop wireframes and prototypes, and ensure designs meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. This role requires strong collaboration and project management skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field
• 2-3 Years of experience in web design or a similar role
• Experience working with CMS platforms (preferably Drupal but Wordpress and others considered)
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figmae or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD)
• Experience in B2B SaaS or digital experience platforms
• Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end web design projects, ideally for enterprise clients
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, to manage expectations with developers and stakeholders
• Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics
• Familiarity with UX principles and best practices
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects concurrently

Responsibilities

• Create visually engaging and responsive web designs that align with Acquia's web & brand guidelines
• Translate business objectives and user needs into innovative web experiences that drive engagement and conversions
• Collaborate with developers to implement front-end design changes and improvements
• Ensure designs are optimized for speed and performance
• Conduct user research to understand target audience needs and preferences
• Develop wireframes, prototypes, and user flow diagrams to map out user experiences
• Test and iterate on design concepts based on user feedback and usability testing
• Ensure website designs provide a seamless and intuitive user experience
• Leverage analytics and user feedback to measure design effectiveness and guide improvements
• Champion inclusive design by ensuring all web experiences meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA standards
• Design graphics, and assist with the building and maintenance of Acquia.com
• Maintain a consistent visual style across all digital assets, adhering to web & brand guidelines
• Edit and optimize images for web use, ensuring high quality and fast load times
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging content that supports website promotions and content
• Work closely with marketing, development, and content teams to ensure successful project execution
• Participate in regular design reviews with our Brand & Creative team and provide constructive feedback to peers
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to deadlines
• Stay updated on the latest web design trends, tools, and technologies to continually improve design processes
