WooCommerce WordPress Developer

Summary

Join Built Mighty / Little Rhino, a remote US-based web development company, as a skilled developer. You will design, develop, and maintain software applications, primarily focusing on WordPress and WooCommerce projects for small businesses. This W2 position offers flexible hours (30-40 per week) and a remote work environment. You will collaborate with a team of designers, project managers, and other developers. Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a developer
• 2+ years of experience creating, maintaining and improving WordPress and/or WooCommerce Plugins and Themes
• Must have backend development experience
• Must have experience with WooCommerce
• Solid knowledge of PHP, HTML/CSS, MySQL, JavaScript, webpack, and Git
• Experience working with Agile methodologies
• Knowledge of web development technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Experience with software testing, debugging and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git)
• Must be US based. Currently not accepting candidates from New York
• Must be able to develop fully remote in the Cloud. Experience with GitHub, GitHub Codespaces and Docker

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other members of the development team to plan and implement features and functionality
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Test and debug software to ensure it is free of errors and performs as expected
• Deliver accurate estimates for work
• Debug issues in high-risk situations
• Continuously learn and stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in software development
• Assist with the maintenance and support of existing software products
• Maintain communication with developers, project managers, and clients
• Meet with clients during the discovery phase of project cycle
• Ensure proper documentation through GitHub and Jira
• Escalate issues to Development Lead, Project Manager, or clients

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Laravel
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
