Summary

Join Girls Who Code as a Work Prep Program Lead! This part-time, remote, temporary position (up to 20 hours/week) runs from April 7th, 2025 to August 1st, 2025. You will lead a cohort of up to 120 college-aged women and non-binary participants through a three-week program focused on building career skills and confidence in the tech industry. Responsibilities include managing participant materials, facilitating virtual sessions, providing logistical support, and collaborating with corporate partners. The role requires experience working with college-aged students and strong communication skills. Interviews begin after January 1st, 2025.

Requirements

  • Have 3 years of experience working with groups of college-aged students or young adults (classes, workshops, events, etc.)
  • Have experience with facilitating large group activities and discussions virtually on Zoom
  • Have the ability to foster a welcoming, engaging and brave space for young adults
  • Possess excellent oral communication and presentation skills
  • Have meticulous attention to detail
  • Have experience working in a collaborative environment
  • Have experience working with corporate partners
  • Be confident in the ability to quickly learn and navigate new platforms
  • Have a reliable, strong internet connection and access to a computer (one will not be provided)
  • Be service-minded with a helpful approach
  • Be a proactive, candid communicator
  • Have a passion for our mission to close the gender gap in technology fields through a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Responsibilities

  • Lead a cohort of up to 120 participants through the Work Prep program
  • Manage the preparation of all participant-facing materials by updating and copy editing templates
  • Update documentation for program implementation with partner-specific information
  • Copy edit and ensure alignment with the curriculum for all participant-facing communications
  • Facilitate all virtual synchronous sessions (twice a week for three weeks)
  • Provide logistical support to participants and corporate partners
  • Lead weekly meetings and pre-session check-ins with corporate partners to prepare volunteers, speakers, and partner materials
  • Escalate participant and partner concerns or issues as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have experience with students in college or a job readiness program
  • Have experience or knowledge of the tech industry, computer science, or adjacent fields

Benefits

  • $30 - $30 an hour
