Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience handling workers' compensation cases
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, video conferencing platforms, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Comfortable working remotely with your own laptop, smartphone, and broadband internet access
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Draft legal documents related to workers’ compensation cases, including petitions, discovery responses, motions, and settlement documents
  • Manage and maintain case files, ensuring all medical records, employment records, and legal correspondence are properly organized and updated
  • Communicate professionally with clients, insurance companies, opposing attorneys, medical providers, and state workers' compensation boards
  • Review, summarize, and abstract medical records to support case analysis, discovery, and trial preparation
  • Summarize expert deposition testimony and witness statements to assist in evaluating case strengths and weaknesses
  • Electronically file documents with state workers’ compensation boards and courts, ensuring compliance with jurisdictional requirements and filing deadlines
  • Assist attorneys in all phases of case development, including preparing for hearings, depositions, and mediations
  • Coordinate scheduling of medical evaluations, hearings, and appointments related to case progress
  • Provide administrative support such as conducting client intakes, drafting correspondence, calendaring deadlines, and maintaining accurate case timelines

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with case management software like Clio and SmartAdvocate is a plus
