Summary

Join WelbeHealth PACE as their Workplace Safety Manager and be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive workplace safety strategy. You will create and maintain crucial safety plans, conduct thorough investigations, and deliver essential training programs. The role involves overseeing safety across various locations, mentoring safety officers, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field, along with at least five years of workplace safety experience and two years of supervisory experience. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional experience in the areas of emergency/disaster/HAZMAT management, public safety, occupational health & safety, environmental sciences, industrial safety, or equivalent education/experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in workplace safety, including oversight of emergency preparedness/management, hazardous materials and waste management, healthcare safety, and occupational and environmental safety
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience with the demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members
  • Knowledge of healthcare Incident Command System (ICS), National Incident Management System (NIMS), and applicable state and/or local emergency management systems

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and lead on creating and updating an Emergency Management Preparedness Plan (EMPP) and Injury and illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements, continually evaluating to ensure these plans continue to reflect evolving operational needs, including but not limited to expansion into multi-state operations and compliance with regulatory standards related to environmental health and safety for survey readiness
  • Develop and implement safety, fire prevention, industrial hygiene, and environmental training programs, including emergency response/decontamination training
  • Ensure completion of accident investigations and hazard analyses bi-annually or per regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual workplace safety reports internally to central and operations leaders
  • Identify people, institutional, and material resources needed to accomplish workplace safety program management objectives
  • Perform Safety Officer duties for WelbeHealth central, including but not limited to ensuring appropriate investigation and follow up by direct supervisors, reporting team members with any workplace safety or workplace violence incidents, and serving as Safety Officer on Enterprise Incident Command is activated
  • Onboard all new site-specific Safety Officers across all WelbeHealth sites and deliver training and education on any changes to EMPP or IIPP, as well as perform regular onsite check-ins to ensure quality of ongoing workplace safety management at each PACE center, serving as a mentor and final approver on checking quality of emergency drills, tabletop exercises, completion of after-action reports and follow up items, and follow-up actions after a serious workplace safety or workplace violence incident has been reported

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing workplace safety in various environments such as ambulatory clinics, residential facilities, and mobile and office settings; experience in healthcare and home healthcare strongly preferred
  • Experience creating and implementing workplace safety standards and policies, along with previous multi-state operations and regulatory workplace safety requirements
  • Strong Preference for any of the following certifications: Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazmat Certification, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) Certification, Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (CEAS), Hazardous Waste Training (RCRA) and/or OSHA HAZWOPER
