Summary
Join Haystack as an Account Director to lead client relationship management, retention, and growth. You will be the primary contact for key accounts, ensuring successful project delivery and identifying new opportunities. Initially, you will also oversee project delivery, acting as a hybrid client lead and project manager. This role is crucial for building Haystack's reputation as a trusted partner. Responsibilities include cultivating client relationships, developing account plans, leading business reviews, advocating for client needs, collaborating with internal teams, identifying new business opportunities, and driving client referrals. You will also manage software delivery projects, facilitate planning sessions, manage project timelines and resources, and support backlog grooming and QA coordination.
Requirements
- 7+ years of client-facing experience in a professional services, consulting, or software delivery environment
- Strong track record of managing and growing client relationships
- Experience working on custom web and mobile software products
- Proficiency with Agile project management and product delivery workflows
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing project scopes, timelines, and budgets
- Highly proactive, organized, and adaptable to changing priorities
Responsibilities
- Cultivate strong relationships with key client stakeholders
- Establish a deep understanding of client goals, challenges, and priorities
- Develop strategic account plans to retain and grow client accounts
- Lead quarterly business reviews and client feedback loops
- Advocate for client needs while balancing Haystackโs business priorities
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within and across accounts
- Drive client referrals and build a reputation for service excellence
- Manage software delivery projects from kickoff through launch and beyond
- Facilitate planning sessions, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Create and manage project timelines, milestones, and resourcing plans
- Ensure scope, budget, and timeline alignment across stakeholders
- Support backlog grooming, user story writing, and QA coordination
- Use tools like Jira, Confluence, and Slack to manage and communicate effectively
- Help shape Haystackโs client services model and delivery best practices
- Contribute to pricing, scoping, and resourcing strategies
- Provide input on staffing decisions and hiring for delivery and client success roles
