Summary
Join M Booth's growing Corporate team as an Account Director, leading a critical piece of business, managing team members, and serving as a day-to-day client counselor. You will oversee client programming, manage complex projects, and inspire your team. The role requires strategic thinking, media relations expertise, and strong communication skills. You'll be responsible for team deliverables, client communication, budget management, and problem-solving. Requirements
- Bachelorβs Degree
- 7+ years of experience working in-house or at an agency
- Experience managing a team of direct reports and/or mentoring junior talent
- Experience earning thought leadership in top tier and industry trades, especially related to professional services, technology, financial services (e.g., payments and banking), manufacturing, automotive, aviation, defense, industrials, energy, oil & gas, chemicals, or other B2B industries
- Curiosity and the ability to quickly understand complex, technical material and make it compelling for media
- Media expertise and campaign development experience
- Media savviness including corporate and B2B storytelling
- A curious, solution-oriented and collaborative approach to all work, alongside an entrepreneurial and self- starter mindset
- Excellent client relationship management
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic voice and account lead for the client
- Assist in crafting media materials (media strategies, press releases, pitches, etc.) and review team's miscellaneous account needs (e.g. client notes, media lists)
- Drive media relations programs, from strategic oversight to helping the team to brainstorm new angles and conducting media outreach
- Set performance standards for account teams
- Responsible for team deliverables and all client communication (emails, Slacks, etc.)
- Lead client calls and internal meetings
- Have a solid grasp on account profitability
- Create, review, and track program budgets
- Skilled at written and verbal communications, including the ability to write effectively with data
- Be a problem solver for the team
- Maintain strong media connections or be willing to build new ones as needed
- From time to time as needed, help participate in new business activities
- Be a voracious consumer of corporate media, on the pulse of the most important business news of the day, and able to connect the dots to create opportunities for clients
