Summary

Join IZEA Worldwide, Inc., a leading influencer marketing company, as an Accountant and play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, you will be responsible for preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end close activities. This role requires strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of GAAP. You will support accurate financial reporting and help identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3–5 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong technical research skills and accounting knowledge
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in all MS Office applications; strong knowledge of Excel required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries for routine and non-routine transactions
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Ensure accurate classification and recording of revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities
  • Analyze financial data and provide variance explanations to management
  • Assist in preparing internal financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails for journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Support internal and external audit processes, including providing schedules and explanations
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with AP, AR, Payroll, and FinOps teams to ensure proper coding and transaction completeness
  • Review and maintain accruals, deferrals, and prepaid expenses
  • Monitor compliance with GAAP and internal controls
  • Participate in system upgrades, testing, and process improvement initiatives
  • Support ad hoc financial projects, reports, and analyses as requested by management

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA designation preferred
  • Experience with Sage Intacct preferred
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and see projects through to completion
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively
  • Intuition and awareness to seek clarification when needed to deliver accurate results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
