Summary

A Mid-Level Accountant is needed for a key role in the finance department of a company in Hawkinsville, Georgia. The successful candidate will manage various accounting functions, ensure financial data accuracy, perform financial analysis, and coordinate external audits. They should have a degree in Accounting or Finance, 3-5 years experience, strong GAAP understanding, fluency in English, advanced Excel skills, excellent analytical skills, effective communication skills, and experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software. Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 3-5 years working experience in a finance environment
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Fluency in English (Written and Verbal)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and forecasts in compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Perform analysis of the budget to actual results and prepare a report with the findings
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve any discrepancies
• Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor inquiries
• Monitor and administer compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed
• Assist in special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as assigned
