Summary
Join OLIPOP as their Accounting Manager and oversee the GL accounting function, managing a team and ensuring accurate financial reporting. You will manage day-to-day accounting, create budget vs. actuals reporting, maintain compliance, and develop financial controls. The role requires strong leadership, technical accounting expertise, and process streamlining abilities. You will mentor staff, conduct performance evaluations, and identify areas for improvement. The position reports to the Assistant Controller and offers a base salary of $110,000-$120,000 plus bonus. OLIPOP is a fully remote company that values collaboration and a positive work environment.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 2+ years of experience managing direct reports
- Experience with month-end closing, financial statement preparation, and audit processes
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements
- ERP and accounting software experience required (NetSuite, Ramp, Confido, or similar systems)
- Intermediate Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, etc
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve complex problems with minimal oversight
- Meticulous attention to detail paired with strong analytical thinking and organizational excellence
- Outstanding communication skills with a track record of effective collaboration across cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
- Oversee the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial statements
- Prepare and review journal entries, manage accruals, and maintain reconciliation schedules over various balance sheet accounts
- Create budget vs actuals monthly reporting and manage BvA process
- Ensure all transactions are accounted for accurately and timely in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare required schedules and documentation related to our annual financial audit
- Manage Sales Tax and Bottle Deposit reporting and filing
- Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures and recommend improvements to mitigate financial risks
- Support AR team with customer invoicing and cash application
- Manage and mentor multiple accounting staff, providing guidance and development opportunities
- Conduct performance evaluations and participate in hiring decisions for accounting team members
- Identify areas of improvement and provide solutions that drive efficiencies
- Other applicable projects or duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred
- CPG/Manufacturer industry experience preferred
