Join StrongDM as the Accounting Manager to play a crucial role in managing the company's financial functions, including accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of private industry experience at a SaaS company is highly preferred, and public accounting (ex. Big 4) experience is a plus
  • CPA is required
  • Strong understanding of GAAP (ASC 606, ASC 718 for example) and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Proficient in NetSuite (SuiteBilling) is highly preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership abilities and a team player with excellent communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively

Responsibilities

  • Own core accounting responsibilities including month-end close process, account reconciliation and financial reporting including accounting for compensation-related accounts (bonuses, commissions, equity/ASC 718, etc.)
  • Ensure accuracy of revenue recognition reporting and ASC 606 compliance through contract review and approval of subscriptions added to NetSuite
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
  • Oversee the Customer Acquisition Costs (deferred commissions) calculations and ensure amounts are appropriate based the ASC 606
  • Assist the VP, of Finance and Corporate Controller with the budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and financial modeling
  • Coordinate and manage external audits, tax filings, and other financial reporting obligations
  • Oversee sales tax compliance ensuring reporting requirements and filings are complete and accurate
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure policy, procedures and internal controls are updated in accordance to US GAAP
  • Ability to research and reconcile discrepancies and verify documents in accordance with accounting procedures and policies
  • Seek opportunities for process improvements and implement operational accounting efficiencies through improved policies and control enhancements
  • Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth
