Summary
The Accounting Officer will be a key member of the finance team responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Duties include preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, collaborating with internal teams, maintaining compliance, and more. The candidate must be a CPA with at least 5 years of experience in end-to-end processing of transactions to financial reporting. Requirements
- Must be a CPA with a degree in Accounting
- At least 5 years of experience with end-to-end processing of transactions to financial reporting
- Team player and excited to learn new things
- Good attention to detail and ability to perform self-checks
- Advanced MS Excel user and working competence in using accounting systems
- Must have experience working in a bank or auditing banks
- Willing to embrace and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive financial statements within stipulated deadlines, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making processes
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial information for reporting purposes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports
- Provide support to regular monthly closing activities
- Reconcile subsidiary ledgers and schedules against the financial reports and propose adjustments as applicable
- Participate in ongoing system implementations and ensure financial data are captured accurately. May perform user acceptance testing (UAT) as needed
- Support external audit processes at the group and subsidiary level by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and reporting requirements
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance the efficiency of financial reporting procedures
Preferred Qualifications
Some experience in an audit firm is preferred but not mandatory
