Summary

Join Productive Playhouse, a global data company, as a part-time, temporary Accounting Specialist! This remote position (within the US) focuses on Accounts Payable, with additional administrative tasks. You will ensure financial accuracy and timely reporting, working closely with the team. Experience with payment platforms (PayPal, Bill.com, QuickBooks Online) and proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets are essential. This temporary role may evolve based on business needs. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or 2+ years of relevant experience), strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred ; candidates with 2+ years of relevant experience will also be considered
  • Demonstrated experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial data entry
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and best practices in financial data management
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and spreadsheet tools (Excel, Google Sheets)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Clear, professional communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze, and report project-related expenses including staffing costs and corporate card transactions
  • Prepare and issue client invoices; track payments, close out funded projects, and resolve discrepancies in coordination with staff
  • Generate payment reports, ensuring accuracy in billing details such as tasks or hourly rates; resolve issues prior to submitting finalized reports to the Project Accounting Manager
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies by cross-referencing data from multiple sources; ensure consistency across accounts
  • Consolidate data for accounts payable and receivable from diverse sources in an organized and accurate manner
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive financial documentation, including invoices, backup spreadsheets, payment reports, and related financial records
  • Assist with financial and project-based reporting, including revenue and expense reports for leadership and operations teams
  • Actively participate in team discussions; escalate inconsistencies or urgent matters to the supervisor promptly
  • Work collaboratively with finance and project teams, contributing ideas for continuous improvement and adapting to changing priorities
  • Other duties as assigned to support the finance department

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Google Suite tools preferred
  • Experience in multicultural or international work environments is a plus
