Join Keep's growing finance team as a US Tax Accountant and play a crucial role in navigating the complexities of cross-border operations while ensuring impeccable tax compliance. Lead US tax compliance and filings, develop and implement tax strategies, and manage day-to-day financial transactions. Maintain accurate financial records, process bills, reconcile vendor statements, and prepare financial statements. Requirements

  • Accounting, Finance, or related field graduate with work experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or administrative tasks
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong knowledge of US tax regulations and filing requirements, including federal and state tax compliance
  • Proactive mindset with a keen interest in understanding and improving processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets

Responsibilities

  • Lead US tax compliance and filings across federal, state, and local levels with minimal supervision
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize our cross-border operations
  • Lead day-to-day financial transactions, including data entry of receipts, invoices, and other financial documents
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records to ensure the integrity of financial data
  • Manage the processing of bills, ensuring accuracy and adherence to payment schedules
  • Direct reconciliation of vendor statements and address discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve payment-related inquiries
  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements by performing reconciliations and ensuring the accuracy of supporting documentation
  • Work closely with the accounting team to compile data and information required for financial reporting
  • Implement accounting standards and policies to ensure compliance with US regulatory requirements
  • Lead day-to-day accounting activities, including complex journal entries and month-end close processes
  • Provide guidance on US tax implications for business decisions and new product offerings
  • Stay current on changes in US tax legislation and assess their impact on our operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Canadian tax regulations and requirements
  • Familiarity with Mexican tax requirements (SAT filings and CFDIs)
  • Experience with cross-border tax considerations between North American countries
  • Understanding of US sales tax nexus rules across multiple states
  • Experience with tax preparation software for multiple jurisdictions
  • QuickBooks Online experience and financial statement knowledge
  • Interest or experience in the fintech sector
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, evolving work environment
