Summary
Join our client, a leading Australian build-to-rent company, as their new Accounts Administrator! In this role, you will provide crucial support to the finance team, handling accounts receivable, accounts payable, and trust accounting. You will be responsible for raising rent and tenant charges, processing payments, managing arrears reports, and collaborating with other teams to resolve account queries. The position also involves vendor onboarding, accounts payable processes, and ensuring data accuracy. This is a full-time, permanent work-from-home position based in Australia.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar finance or accounts administration role
- Proficiency in financial systems and accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to issue resolution
- Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
Responsibilities
- Raise periodic rent roll charges and ad-hoc tenant charges, including onboarding charges for new residents
- Process monthly direct debits and ensure accurate receipting of payments
- Prepare and maintain arrears reports, ensuring all data is recorded accurately and on time
- Collaborate with the property and leasing teams to investigate and resolve resident account queries
- Perform vendor onboarding and manage end-to-end accounts payable processes, including invoice uploads and payment runs
- Ensure accuracy in all data entries related to charges, receipting, and payments
- Provide ad-hoc finance support as required by the Portfolio Accountant or broader finance team
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in the property or real estate industry is highly regarded
- Working knowledge of trust accounting principles is advantageous
