Summary

The job is for an Applications Scientist at Schrödinger who will provide scientific support to customers, facilitate interactions between customers and product development teams, advance the field of computer-driven drug discovery through active research and scientific collaborations, and promote knowledge transfer. The position can be filled in one of their offices in Germany (Mannheim or Munich), or remotely in Paris.

Requirements

• PhD and postdoctoral research in computational chemistry, bioinformatics, or related fields, or at least five years of experience in computational drug discovery in the commercial sector
• A solid understanding of the commercial drug discovery process
• Excellent English language skills (both verbal and written); Spanish language skills are a plus
• Willingness to travel

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific support to current and prospective customers, including education on the optimal use of Schrödinger’s life science software platform
• Facilitate interactions between customers and product development teams
• Advance the field of computer-driven drug discovery through active research and scientific collaborations
• Promote knowledge transfer (for instance, by publishing scientific papers and presenting at conferences)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with biologics (antibody, enzyme, or peptide modelling; protein-protein docking, etc.) preferred
• Practical experience with machine learning technologies or different modalities is a plus
