Join Schrödinger as an Applications Scientist and contribute to improving human health. You will provide scientific support to life-science customers in APAC, guiding them in using Schrödinger's life science software for drug discovery. This role involves collaborating with various teams, conducting research, and publishing findings. The position is based in San Diego or remotely in San Francisco, requiring flexible hours to accommodate Chinese customers. Requirements
- PhD in computational chemistry or a related field
- Post-doctoral research and/or relevant experience in the life-science commercial sector
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin are required
- Willingness to work flexible hours, in order to maximize the overlap between US Pacific and China business hours
- Ability and willingness to travel to China on at least a quarterly basis, or as required
- A solid understanding of the commercial drug discovery process
- Experience in one of the following: molecular dynamics simulations/enhanced sampling/free energy calculation methods, ligand-based drug design, quantum mechanics, and/or structural modeling
Responsibilities
- Provide scientific support to current and prospective life-science customers based in China, which includes demonstrating the optimal use of our life science software suites, facilitating interactions between customers and product development teams, and providing general scientific guidance
- Engage in cutting edge scientific research to continuously develop personal expertise and establish best practices for customers
- Work cross-functionally with Product Managers, Account Managers and the Marketing team to improve business strategies
- Publish scientific papers and present at conferences
Preferred Qualifications
- Programming experience (preferably Python) is a plus
- Medicinal chemistry knowledge is a plus
