Summary
Join MATRIX, a national company providing camps, logistics, and aviation management services, as an Assistant Camp Manager for rotational projects across Canada. This fully remote, in-camp position requires resourcefulness, attention to detail, and teamwork in remote locations, including extreme arctic climates. You will support the Camp Manager in various duties, participate in daily Toolbox meetings, and perform facilities maintenance and mechanical operations. The role demands physical stamina, proficiency in MS Office, and strong interpersonal skills. A 2-week on, 2-week off rotation is offered, along with paid travel days and a competitive daily salary.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge in Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing & Mechanical
- 2 years as a Assistant Camp Manager or Labourer in remote settings
- Valid Driver's License
- Physically demanding job. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Proficient computer skills. MS Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel, Office 365)
- Organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive attitude and a desire to help your team succeed
Responsibilities
- Support Camp Manager on additional duties outside of your position when needed
- Participate in daily Toolbox meetings
- Team player and provide hands-on support
- Facilities maintenance, Mechanical operations such as generators, plumbing and electrical systems
Preferred Qualifications
- PAL license (for wildlife monitoring)
- Level 1 First Aid Certification or equivalent 2-day course
- Previous experience working in a remote camp setting
- Previous experience working with Diesel Generators, off-road vehicles and chainsaws
- Familiar using a Satellite phone
- Trades experience a definite asset
- Handy and adaptable
