Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management roles
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll
  • Prepare and review accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Oversee tax compliance and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives
  • Implement and optimize accounting software and tools to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Mentor and develop a small team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of growth and excellence

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or equivalent certification
  • Experience in multifamily and a startup or high-growth environment
