Summary
Join Skillsoft as an Associate Account Manager for Small & Medium Businesses (SMB)! You will proactively manage and expand existing accounts and acquire new ones, focusing on our Technology & Developer (T&D) portfolio. Your responsibilities include driving revenue growth, selling T&D solutions to SMBs, collaborating with the sales team, and exceeding sales goals. You'll need 3+ years of successful IT sales experience, a strong understanding of sales cycles, and the ability to articulate our offerings to meet client needs. A college degree or equivalent experience is preferred, along with a passion for technology and supporting customer success. Requirements
- 3+ years successful sales experience in IT sales in a growth, acquisition or hybrid capacity
- Successfully delivered against annual targets / KPI's
- Experience selling directly into IT Departments is required (L&D / HR would also be advantageous)
- A keen understanding of the steps involved in a sales cycle and ability to leverage each stage to advance the sale
- Ability to prospect and manage a designated territory to maximize revenue growth
- Speaking the language of IT (L&D / HR would also be advantageous)
- Ability to operate with a sense of urgency, be aggressive, competitive, and demonstrate a positive, winning attitude
- Negotiate effectively based on value and time to close
- Ability to understand client requirements and to clearly articulate the company's offerings to develop solutions to meet those requirements
Responsibilities
- Drive top-line revenue growth through expansion into your existing customer base and acquisition of new customers across our comprehensive portfolio of T&D solutions across your territory
- Sell our vast T&D solutions line directly to SMB L&D, HR and IT Departments
- Work alongside the entire SMB and Enterprise private sector sales team
- Own responsibility to meet and exceed revenue & sales goals
- Win by representing a solution line with key competitive differentiators
- Influence customers and prospects across L&D, HR and IT departments across all seniority levels of stakeholders
- Establish strategic plans and objectives to drive desired business growth and outcomes
- Partner with other AE's, SME's and various other pre and post sales support resources in the successful advancement of critical opportunities and customer penetration
- Develop a thorough understanding of Global Knowledge Skillsoft's sales plays related to Digital and Business transformation
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of B2B sales experience within the IT or training industry preferred
- College Degree or equivalent in education/experience
- A passion for Technology and for supporting customers to achieve their business objectives
- Growth of existing customers and Acquisition of new customers sales experience preferred
- Ability to follow established processes and provide constructive feedback on processes
- Exhibits strong prospecting skills, growth and hunter mentality
