Associate Director

Summary

Join our team as Associate Director, Clinical Budgets and Contracts to support clinical budgets and contracts outsourcing strategies and collaborate with Vaxcyte's clinical operations team. This is a hands-on position that requires strong analytical ability, business acumen, and excellent communication skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree is required
• Must have a minimum of 10 years contracts experience supporting clinical trials in a biopharmaceutical company or CRO
• Knowledge of financial reporting, accounting controls and analytics
• Experience supporting Phase I to III clinical trials
• Must possess strong analytical ability, and solid business acumen including an understanding of business operations in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and handle simultaneous assignments under tight deadlines
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word are required
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across organizations and utilize resources effectively
• Ability to manage and supervise direct reports, if required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Utilize savvy negotiation skills to work through several iterations and finalize contracts and budgets

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact with CROs, partners, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders to address issues, and function as a liaison with these parties on contract deliverables and issue resolution
• Lead the request for proposal process including bid comparison, bid review meetings, recommendation on selection and awarding the service
• Support clinical trials budget reforecasts and the annual planning process
• Support the monthly expense accruals process
