Requirements

  • 1 year of relevant prior work experience, ideally for a congressional office, non-profit or political advocacy organization, or electoral campaign
  • Excellent written communication. Knowledge of research-style bulleting and LexisNexis is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills, and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • Interest in political research, politics, and/or climate issues
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace. Familiarity with AirTable is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Research Content Creation: The Research Associate will help gather facts and write research bullets for reports and other research products, as directed by the Deputy Research Director
  • Research Program Support: The Research Associate will assist the department with general research tasks, including database entry and maintenance and gathering background information
  • Current Events Monitoring: The Research Associate will be responsible for daily monitoring of and summarizing news about relevant climate and clean energy topics. The Associate will also assist the team with monitoring needs during rapid-response moments
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: As a member of the Research Department, the Associate will collaborate with and respond to research questions from other Climate Power teams, including Communications, States, and Digital
  • Administrative Tasks: The Research Associate will assist the Deputy Managing Director and Managing Director with administrative tasks, including updating project trackers and departmental reports
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as need and capacity dictate
