Summary

The job is for a Staff Game Services Engineer at The Believer Company. The role involves guiding the development of services for their flagship game, collaborating with the game team, creating CI/CD pipelines, defining a strategy for observability and monitoring, and open-sourcing components of the services. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in developing distributed systems using Golang, Rust, C#, or similar languages, utilizing modern infrastructure on Kubernetes, and experience with Observability and Monitoring Platforms.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing distributed systems using Golang, Rust, C#, or similar languages
• Experience utilizing modern infrastructure on Kubernetes
• Experience using Linux-based cloud infrastructure technologies like AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Experience with Observability and Monitoring Platforms (i.e. - Grafana, Honeycomb, Datadog)

Responsibilities

• Guide the development of services that empower millions of players and their adventures within the vast open world of Believer's flagship game
• Collaborate with the game team to identify and build important services that enable the team to build scalable, reliable, maintainable, persistent game systems
• Partner directly with fellow backend engineers to create CI/CD pipelines that empower us to test, iterate, and deploy our game service platform
• Define a comprehensive strategy for observability and monitoring throughout our services
• Initiate and champion efforts to open-source components of our services right from the outset

Preferred Qualifications

• Excited to create and own modern game development services using Rust
• Excited to build a services platform that integrates directly with Unreal

• Annual salary range: $221,000-$291,000
