Summary

Join Firefly Health, a revolutionary healthcare company, as a Benefit Design Strategist! You will play a key role in developing and implementing innovative benefit strategies. Reporting to the SVP of Product, you will leverage data analytics, market trends, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to optimize benefit designs. This role requires expertise in benefit design, cost analysis, and communication. The position offers a largely remote work structure with occasional on-site meetings. Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in healthcare management, business, public health, or a related field; Masterโ€™s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in benefits design, healthcare consulting, actuarial analysis or a related field with deep understanding of employer-sponsored health plans and cost drivers
  • Proven track record of implementing innovative benefit solutions that reduce costs and improve care outcomes via various member incentive structures
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting healthcare data (e.g., claims data, utilization trends)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Creative thinker with the ability to challenge traditional benefit design models
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Knowledge of self-funded health plans and value-based care principles

Responsibilities

  • Be the in-house expert on benefit design, and develop a holistic re-design for our existing plans, as well as prospective plan designs for new segments like fully insured
  • Develop and refine innovative benefits that drive improved outcomes while reducing total cost of care via various mechanisms including through our in house care solutions
  • Leverage data analytics to identify cost drivers and design solutions that address those challenges without compromising quality of care
  • Stay current on market trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging healthcare technologies to ensure benefit designs remain ahead of the curve
  • Support sales efforts as SME. Present proposed plan design details to current and potential customers
  • Work closely with internal teams (e.g., actuarial, clinical, operations, sales & marketing) and external partners (e.g., clients, prospects and consultants) to evaluate and implement strategies
  • Focus on improving member experiences by creating accessible, transparent, and easy-to-use benefits
  • Develop materials and deliver presentations to educate clients and stakeholders on the value and impact of innovative benefit solutions
  • Track the performance of benefit designs post-implementation and adjust as necessary to achieve optimal results

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with pricing / care quality vendor data (e.g., Talon) to inform benefit design and incentives
  • Knowledge of fully insured health plans

This role can be done largely remotely, there are several times a year when staff come together onsite for planning and team building
