Summary
Join EnableComp as an HR/Benefits Specialist and support human resources operations, including health and company benefits, leaves of absence, and employee engagement initiatives. You will be a key resource for employee inquiries, acting as a subject matter expert on company benefit plans and leave policies. Responsibilities include processing new employee enrollments, managing life event changes, and resolving employee benefits issues. You will also evaluate leave of absence requests, support timecard processing, analyze HR data, and manage employment verification requests. Additionally, you will oversee workers' compensation claims and support remote work transitions. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or other related field of study
- 2-4 years of experience in HR support function
- Experience with benefit administration required
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Must have strong computer proficiency and understand how to use basic office applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and HRIS systems
- Regular and predictable attendance

Responsibilities
- Be a key resource for employee questions specifically regarding benefits, leaves of absences, engagement initiatives, and other HR programs as needed
- Subject Matter Expert on company benefit plans and leave of absences; answers benefits/LOA questions or concerns, recommend the appropriate options, and explain associated benefits honestly, clearly, and accurately
- Primary point of contact for benefits administration activities and programs (open enrollment, new hire benefit orientation, COBRA continuation, and related trainings and communications.)
- Processes new employee enrollments and handles on-going life event changes
- Acts as a key resource in fielding and helping resolve employee benefits issues and questions as needed. Partners with HR Director and benefits broker on various strategies and resolutions
- Evaluates requests for Leaves of Absences and/or ADA accommodations and handles all communication, paperwork, and tracking from start to end
- Provide supportive, personalized end-to-end leave of absence experience for internal customers using a combination of tools to manage, communicate and update all stages of a leave
- Supports timecard deadline process to ensure timely and accurate processing
- Pull and analyze data from the HRIS system and/or Excel to support benefits administration, leaves of absence tracking, and other HR initiatives; identify trends, ensure data accuracy, and inform decision-making
- Manage all employment verification requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses in accordance with company policy and confidentiality standards
- Oversees Workers’ Compensation claims including completion and submission of incident reports, OSHA Form 301, etc
- Primary point of contact for remote work transitions and/or return to office transitions
- Participate in communications across the business and throughout various levels of the organization
- Assist with employee engagement and retainment efforts including company events, newsletters recognition efforts, and award programs (i.e. Top Workplaces)
- Participate in the planning, coordination, and execution of company charitable giving initiatives, including organizing events, promoting employee involvement, and supporting community partnerships
- Interpret & apply HR polices & procedures, as well as ensure compliance on applicable policies, federal laws, and regulations with respect to ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA and FMLA, ADA, personal leave, etc. Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices
- Provide support to HR Director/HR Generalist as needed
- Use of independent judgement and discretion as it relates to responsibilities detailed above
- Other duties as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with leave of absence administration preferred
- SHRM-CP or PHR highly recommended
- Highly detail-oriented and ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines is essential
- Possesses a problem solver mindset and thrives in taking ownership and holding self and others appropriately accountable
- Demonstrated ability to navigate and lead difficult or sensitive conversations with professionalism and clarity
