BI Developer

Summary

Join Skyward IT Solutions as a BI Developer supporting CMS by disseminating data to researchers, creating reports for business purposes, performing data analysis, troubleshooting and maintaining dashboards, collaborating with stakeholders, and participating in data security solutions design. Requires Bachelor’s degree, 3 years of SQL experience, proven BI Developer or Data Scientist experience, data warehouse design background, understanding of database management systems, OLAP and ETL framework, familiarity with BI technologies, knowledge of SQL queries, SSRS and SSIS, and ability to take initiative.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
• At least 3 years of experience developing efficient SQL code for backend report development
• Proven experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist
• Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
• Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI)
• Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

Responsibilities

• Be on a team that is supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) by disseminating data to researchers
• Create reports for business purposes
• Perform data analysis in Snowflake, Oracle and other source systems
• Perform unit testing and performance testing
• Troubleshoot and maintain dashboards and reports
• Participate in the definition and design of data security solutions
• Collaborate with stakeholders and business teams to gather requirements and use cases

Preferred Qualifications

Extensive experience working in the government contracting field
