Requirements

  • 1-3 years of healthcare billing experience
  • Strong understanding of insurance billing processes, CPT codes, and payer-specific requirements
  • Familiarity with billing software such as CentralReach or similar platforms (e.g., AlohaABA, Tebra, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Process and submit claims to insurance companies accurately and on time
  • Monitor and resolve denied or unpaid claims by coordinating with payers
  • Conduct audits of billing records to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Identify opportunities to streamline billing and collections workflows
  • Generate reports on billing activities, collections, and outstanding accounts
  • Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility before service delivery
  • Obtain pre-authorizations for services as required
  • Act as the primary contact for billing inquiries from clients and patients
  • Communicate with clients regarding outstanding balances and payment plans
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate, well-organized billing records in line with company standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Naturally curious, coachable, and open-minded
  • Payer-side billing experience (i.e., insurance company)
  • Experience in ABA-specific billing (preferred)
  • Strong technical skills and comfort using multiple platforms (e.g., Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Excel, QuickBooks, Google Sheets)
