Summary

Join our client, a well-established Australian company in the beauty and aesthetics industry, as their highly skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper. You will manage financial records, reconciliations, compliance reporting, and monthly financial processes with precision and efficiency. This is a permanent, full-time, work-from-home position operating during Australian business hours. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 5 years of bookkeeping experience with Australian financial reporting standards. Proficiency in Xero and intermediate Excel skills are essential. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and reconciliation skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accountancy, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role, preferably with exposure to Australian financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency in Xero – Advanced level
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel (formulas, lookups, pivot tables)
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet strict deadlines
  • Clear, professional communication skills—both written and verbal
  • Must be comfortable speaking and communicating with suppliers
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile accounts accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register
  • Prepare accurate and detailed financial reports for management review
  • Complete month-end reporting processes and ensure deadlines are met
  • Prepare and file BAS in compliance with Australian regulations
  • Reconcile data across multiple systems (e.g., Xero, Dear, Ezidebit) to ensure accuracy
  • Handle audit-related queries and prepare supporting documentation
  • Respond professionally to general supplier and customer inquiries
  • Review and verify work completed by the CST team on a monthly basis
  • Ensure all accounting activities comply with statutory requirements and company standards
