Summary
Join ZigZag's growing team as a Bookkeeper and play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and providing valuable financial insights. You will perform bank reconciliations using Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks, publish receipts/invoices in Hubdoc or DEXT, prepare BAS working papers for quarterly lodgements, and handle general admin tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, proficiency in relevant software, and experience with document processing tools. You should possess exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and strong communication skills. Understanding of ATO regulations and privacy laws is also essential.
Requirements
- Possess a strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, specifically related to AP and AR
- Be proficient in Xero/MYOB/Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel and OneDrive
- Have experience with DEXT and Hubdoc for document processing
- Possess solid knowledge of ATO regulations (GST, BAS, PAYG and superannuation requirements)
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Be able to work independently and meet deadlines
- Possess strong communication skills, comfortable with video calls (Zoom, Microsoft Teams,Messenger etc)
- Have an understanding of privacy laws and best practices for handling financial data
Responsibilities
- Perform bank reconciliations using Xero, MYOB and Quickbooks
- Publish receipts/invoices in Hubdoc or DEXT
- Prepare BAS working papers for quarterly lodgements
- Handle general admin work during quieter periods (to be assigned on an ad hoc basis)
- Assist with preparing working papers for financial reports and business tax returns
