Summary

Join our team as a Business Analyst and Technical Specialist! This remote position in Raleigh, NC, offers a 12+ month contract. You will serve as the product manager for electronic certified payroll for the construction team, focusing on our software. Responsibilities include delivering business and system requirements, understanding data flow, application configuration (using XML), task scheduling, and training. You will work with the IT team in an agile environment, coordinate testing and rollout, and ensure customer training. This role requires strong business analysis, agile project management, and product management skills. Preference is given to candidates with AWP, Azure DevOps, and North Carolina Department of Transportation experience.

Requirements

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills – ability to readily translate business requirements into technical terms and vice versa
  • Have an understanding of solutions development methodologies and knowledge of systems and industry requirements
  • Possess knowledge of IT technologies, architecture, infrastructure, and data center operations
  • Have proven experience evaluating, re-engineering, and clearly documenting business processes. A proactive approach to resolving business issues is required
  • Have the ability to research and find facts as it relates to business requirements and solution development
  • Possess proficiency in SQL skills – for querying databases and understanding data flow between systems
  • Be able to gather user requirements, document business rules, workflows and business processes, create test plans, provide production support and assist the team
  • Have experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies
  • Possess excellent organizational and presentation skills
  • Have working knowledge of application development lifecycle

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the product manager for electronic certified payroll for the construction team
  • Deliver business and system requirements
  • Understand data flow requirements between major systems
  • Perform application configuration (using XML)
  • Develop tasks and schedules for delivery
  • Provide training to support delivery of the AASHTOWare Project's Civil Rights and Labor (AWP CRL) module
  • Set goals by identifying requirements, use cases, and tests
  • Estimate hours required for business analysis and task completion
  • Ensure clear communication regarding components to be delivered to the business
  • Create backlog items and participate in daily meetings in an agile environment
  • Work with other analysts to break down the design into milestones and work items
  • Track status, manage communication, and dependencies to the technical team and the business customer
  • Coordinate test validation and rollout for functional components
  • Ensure customers are informed and trained with sufficient help and training materials
  • Translate business requirements into system requirements, and design AWP CRL deliverables as required to support the re-engineered business processes
  • Consult with clients to prototype, refine, test, and debug applications and processes to meet needs
  • Analyze and estimate feasibility and compatibility with other applications and projects
  • Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, and business processes
  • Analyze, define, and document requirements for interfaces between systems
  • Provide support for new processes during implementation
  • Provide operational support for clients to support their business processes
  • Provide coordination with other project team members as needed
  • Provide quality control for program and project deliverables
  • Make XML programmatic changes as needed to the UI, and some reports
  • Perform SQL queries against the database as required to assist in analysis/troubleshooting
  • Coordinate with clients and other technical team members to re-engineer business processes, as needed
  • Assist with developing and delivering training materials for changed business processes and IT applications
  • Provide knowledge transfer to client trainers who will be responsible for long-term training delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have experience with Azure DevOps
  • Have working knowledge of NCDOT Construction business processes, especially Certified Payroll and compliance
  • Have experience with AASHTOWare Project (AWP), especially the CRL module
  • Have experience with designing application test suites
  • Have prior project management experience
  • Have experience with Azure DevOps
  • Have experience with product management
