Business Data Analyst

Summary

The job is for a Business Data Analyst to join a leading financial services company in the US. The role involves developing accounting data requirements, handling large volumes of transactional data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position is available for candidates based in LATAM.

Requirements

• Ability to develop accounting requirements for upstream data
• 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, data analytics, and/or business intelligence
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606 Revenue Recognition (knowledge of IFRS is a plus)
• Intermediate to advanced SQL skills, with the ability to handle large volumes of transactional data (Python experience is a plus)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to adapt to changing work environments
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management and cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to enhance policies and processes
• Develop and design accounting data requirements to automate journal entries
• Monitor and ensure data quality of journal entries via the Revenue Subledger and create Data Quality checks
• Conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for accounting data requirements
• Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for data extraction and reporting
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to improve daily revenue reconciliation and manage reconciliation analysis
• Assess the impact of new product designs on existing accounting requirements during Financial Compliance Review meetings
• Support the automation of journal entries and ensure data consistency and integrity
• Handle ad hoc analyses and projects as assigned
