Summary

Join our team as a Business Development Manager and help us grow our footprint in the DC Metro area. This remote position requires a bold, relationship-driven individual with experience in the construction and land development industry. You will be responsible for identifying and developing relationships with key decision-makers, attending industry events, and generating new business opportunities. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of the construction industry and strong networking skills. Requirements

  • At minimum of 5 years of proven experience in one or more of the following areas
  • Selling construction equipment or services to local government agencies (city, county, or state)
  • Working with or selling to general contractors
  • Business development or client-facing roles in the construction or infrastructure sector
  • General understanding of the construction industry, including project lifecycles, procurement processes, and key stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Help increase and consistently grow our footprint in Maryland, DC, Virginia and beyond
  • Obtain accurate industry data related to growth initiatives
  • Identify & target decision makers to facilitate engagement
  • Develop, nurture and add value to decision maker relationships that lead to ability to create a large amount of negotiated contracts/projects
  • Intentionally develop relationships with key contacts at General Contractors and Land Development firms that are active in our market areas
  • Attend industry events throughout our market area and provide feedback and summary of events attended
  • Add new industry contacts to our company database for future digital marketing purposes
  • Facilitate lunch and learns and other strategies to engage potential client decision makers
  • Work with internal marketing team to create sales and marketing materials as needed
  • Hand over requests for proposals from potential clients to estimating department to generate proposals
  • Follow-up on bid proposals on a regular basis to obtain feedback prior to award being made
  • Look for business/industry markets for companies to investigate and consider pursuing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing relationships with local jurisdiction buyers or general contractors in the DC Metro area (Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia) are highly desirable
  • Ability to identify and pursue long-term business opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and contribute to overall company growth
