Summary
Join Wormhole Foundation as a Business Development Manager and focus on strategic market development for Wormhole. Reporting to the Head of Growth, you will manage the full deal cycle, optimize lead strategies, and identify industry opportunities. You will build and maintain relationships with projects using Wormhole, and work cross-functionally to advance Wormhole's leadership in blockchain interoperability. This role requires strong communication, web3 expertise, and a proven track record in business development. You will be responsible for managing inbound leads, conducting outbound activities, and supporting complex deal negotiations. Ideally, you will be located in the Eastern Time Americas or European time zones.
Requirements
- You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in business development or similar GTM role with demonstrable track record
- A minimum of 2 years in the web3 industry (preferably at an early stage startup)
- You are an excellent communicator, both written and verbally, and you are familiar with web3 communication styles (e.g. using TG, crypto vernacular, etc.)
- You are able to quickly assess, identify and effectively speak to potential partnerโs pain points / value drivers and how we can help
- You are action oriented; you are biased toward action while respecting team-oriented priorities
- You are crypto native, with meaningful understanding of crypto concepts, technical overviews, culture, and industry segments
- You have superb time management skills, and aim to optimize usage of time, both for yourself and for teammates
- You are a strong networker; you build and maintain relationships with key players in the industry
- You are autonomous and self-motivated, and are proactive in pursuing opportunities
- You are a strategic thinker; you efficiently assess the importance of opportunities and accelerate accordingly
- You have strong existing relationships in the industry
- You have strong knowledge of different sectors of a blockchain ecosystem (i.e. DeFi, infrastructure, etc)
- You have experience managing multifaceted, complex projects across internal and external stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Managing, evaluating, and triaging relationships with inbound leads as the first point-of-contact
- Optimizing processes and strategy for lead focus, management, and generation
- Conducting strategic outbound activities, initiating touch points with important prospects
- Sourcing, identifying and proactively pursuing promising opportunities
- Cultivating and developing expertise on Wormhole products
- Working cross-functionally regularly to advance Wormholeโs leadership in blockchain interoperability
- Supporting and driving on complex deal contracts and negotiations
