Summary
Join the Wormhole Foundation as a Business Development Lead and spearhead strategic market development. Reporting to the Head of Growth, you will manage the entire deal cycle, optimize lead generation strategies, and build relationships with potential partners. This role requires identifying industry opportunities, cultivating Wormhole product expertise, and collaborating cross-functionally. You will also support complex contract negotiations and drive Wormhole's leadership in blockchain interoperability. The ideal candidate possesses extensive business development experience, a strong web3 background, and exceptional communication and networking skills.
Requirements
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in business development or similar GTM role with demonstrable track record
- Have a minimum of 2 years in the web3 industry (preferably at an early stage startup)
- Be an excellent communicator, both written and verbally, and be familiar with web3 communication styles (e.g. using TG, crypto vernacular, etc.)
- Be able to quickly assess, identify and effectively speak to potential partner’s pain points / value drivers and how we can help
- Be action oriented; be biased toward action while respecting team-oriented priorities
- Be crypto native, with meaningful understanding of crypto concepts, technical overviews, culture, and industry segments
- Have superb time management skills, and aim to optimize usage of time, both for yourself and for teammates
- Be a strong networker; build and maintain relationships with key players in the industry
- Be autonomous and self-motivated, and be proactive in pursuing opportunities
- Be a strategic thinker; efficiently assess the importance of opportunities and accelerate accordingly
Responsibilities
- Manage, evaluate, and triage relationships with inbound leads as the first point-of-contact
- Optimize processes and strategy for lead focus, management, and generation
- Conduct strategic outbound activities, initiating touch points with important prospects
- Source, identify and proactively pursue promising opportunities
- Cultivate and develop expertise on Wormhole products
- Work cross-functionally regularly to advance Wormhole’s leadership in blockchain interoperability
- Support and drive on complex deal contracts and negotiations
Preferred Qualifications
- Have strong existing relationships in the industry
- Have strong knowledge of different sectors of a blockchain ecosystem (i.e. DeFi, infrastructure, etc)
- Have experience managing multifaceted, complex projects across internal and external stakeholders
