Business Intelligence Engineer

Summary

RYZ Labs is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer with 5+ years of experience for their client in the hospitality industry. The role involves building and maintaining data infrastructure, data modeling, and working with product and business analytics teams. The candidate should have expertise in SQL, data warehouse principles, Python programming, Git, CI/CD, and AWS cloud services. A background in real estate or hotel industry is desirable.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working as a BI / Analytics Engineer
• Expert SQL and data modeling skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to gather requirements and translate them to specs and design
• Knowledge of data warehouse principles and methodologies
• Experience in Python programming, Git, CI/CD

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the client’s data infrastructure by building and maintaining the data platform, data pipelines, and the tools that ingest, process, transform, and serve data
• Build software libraries that standardize the acquisition, ingestion, and integration of external data sources critical for real-time competitive intelligence and pricing
• Use expert SQL and data modeling skills to build the data warehouse base layer data models that will power the client’s reporting dashboards
• Establish and maintain the company’s data lake/data warehousing strategy, define the appropriate data architecture, implement the best technical solution, and continue to meet the growing needs of the business
• Work with product and business analytics teams to ensure the availability and accessibility of relevant business data and business metrics for product analytics and business performance reporting
• Understand the client’s business intimately and model data that will be the source of truth for their business KPIs and metrics
• Design and develop scalable platforms and processes for feature extraction, model training, and simulation
• Own tools, processes, and controls to help the team grow at scale

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS cloud services, data warehouse stores like Snowflake, Redshift, and DBT
• Background in real estate or hotel industry
