Summary

Requirements

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Strong understanding of financial procedures and regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with electronic payment processing and reconciliation
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and processes
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

  • Accurately apply incoming payments to customer accounts and invoices
  • Reconcile cash receipts and perform daily balancing of cash transactions
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to cash applications
  • Collaborate with the accounts receivable team to ensure timely and accurate processing
  • Maintain detailed records of all cash application activities and adjustments
  • Communicate with customers and internal departments to resolve payment issues
  • Monitor and follow up on unapplied cash and unidentified payments
  • Support audits by providing documentation and explanations for cash transactions
  • Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in cash applications
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cash applications or accounts receivable
  • Available to work extra hours, weekends, and holidays
