Summary

Join D2L's Implementation & Training Services team as a Change Management Consultant and help clients successfully launch and adopt D2L products. You will serve as a trusted advisor, leading change management strategy, stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and training enablement. Your responsibilities include developing organizational readiness plans, designing communication plans, tracking KPIs, and providing recommendations to enhance change success. You will also collaborate with account managers, training teams, and other internal teams to define solutions, identify adoption barriers, and mitigate risks. This client-facing role requires strong change management expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in dynamic environments. The position involves supporting sales activities and contributing to process improvements within D2L.

Requirements

  • Ability to instill confidence and influence client decisions in a consultative manner as a trusted advisor
  • Ability to deliver quality, professional presentations, workshops, and individual consultations, synthesizing insights and presenting findings in a clear and structured way
  • Strong knowledge around leading technology change
  • Direct work with strategic planning, change management, and organizational readiness and significant knowledge of change management and organizational development methodology
  • Proven ability to navigate complex organization dynamics, while building and maintaining relationships at the executive level
  • High energy level, demonstrated drive to succeed, and a sense of urgency
  • Proven experience leading client-facing transformation initiatives
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Understand and respond to diverse stakeholder needs in online learning settings

  • Thrive in dynamic environments with shifting priorities and complex stakeholder groups
  • Effectively advocate for change with varying audiences (e.g., skeptical instructors, tech-averse admins)

  • Navigate and respect the unique norms and values of different organizations
  • 10+ years of experience in change management, ideally within a SaaS or enterprise software environment
  • Experience with SaaS platform implementations or enterprise software rollouts
  • Proven experience leading client-facing transformation or adoption initiatives, ideally in a SaaS or enterprise software environment
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing change management strategies, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, training design, and adoption measurement
  • Hands-on experience facilitating workshops, stakeholder interviews, and readiness assessments with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments with teams such as Implementation, Product, Customer Success, and Training
  • Change management principles and methodologies (e.g., ADKAR®, Prosci®)
  • Stakeholder analysis & engagement planning
  • Organizational readiness assessments

  • Workshop facilitation (virtual and in-person)

Responsibilities

  • Consulting services
  • Support transitions to (and growth of) the online learning platform that align with client goals, timelines and constraints, driving value to clients
  • Develop organizational readiness and change management plans, creating targeted strategies and materials that align with client goals, organizational structures, and implementation timelines to ensure successful enablement, launch and adoption
  • Design communication plans to drive user engagement and adoption, with clear, empathetic, and persuasive messaging to address fears, misconceptions, or resistance to change
  • Develop and track KPIs to assess change effectiveness through the engagement of key stakeholders, leveraging tools such as workshops and interviews
  • Provide recommendations based on qualitative and quantitative data to further enhance change success
  • Support clients in developing ongoing engagement strategies such as Communities of Practice
  • Account Strategy
  • Work closely with account managers to help clients define solutions
  • Act as a client champion, sharing feedback internally to help shape the product and future client experiences
  • Collaborate with training teams to develop customized learning paths
  • Identify adoption barriers and work collaboratively with Customer Success, Product, and Implementation teams to overcome them
  • Assist in risk identification and mitigation
  • Sales Support
  • Support and participate in sales and go to market activities
  • Demonstrate thought leadership regarding change management within and outside of D2L, through resources like blog posts and whitepapers, and engagement in webinars and conferences
  • Process Improvement
  • Contribute to the development of change management best practices, toolkits, and resources
  • Recommend and assist with the implementation of process enhancements to better meet the needs of our clients
  • Enablement and Upskilling
  • Document methods and practices demonstrating the value and approaches of change management
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge on current practices and emerging trends in change management, especially with regards to technology adoption and the EdTech space
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of professional education organization standards
  • Share your knowledge across D2L to upskill other team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English / French / Spanish) is an asset
  • Industry experience in EdTech is a bonus
  • Familiarity with EdTech Tools is an asset (e.g., LMS, SIS, digital curriculum platforms)
  • Master's Degree or Doctorate preferred, ideally in Business, Psychology, Organizational Development or related field
  • Change management certification (i.e. PROSCI® or ADKAR®)
