Chief Architect

Summary

Join Integrated Specialty Coverages (ISC), a leading Insurtech company, as their Chief Architect. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the architecture roadmap, leading hands-on development efforts, and ensuring seamless integration and performance of technology solutions. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science (Master's preferred), 10+ years of software development experience (5+ in architecture leadership), and proficiency in various programming languages and frameworks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stay current with emerging technologies. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of software development experience, with at least 5 years in an architecture leadership role
• Proficiency in various programming languages and frameworks, including .NET, Java, JavaScript and SQL
• Hands on experience with a wide range of database technologies, including leading RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres) and noSQL DBs
• Experience overseeing the design and implementation of enterprise data warehouses
• Experience designing, implementing and maintaining containerized microservices architectures
• Strong innovative thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to mentor and collaborate with development teams

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the architecture roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology strategy
• Provide technology leadership to the development team
• Lead hands-on development efforts, providing technical guidance and mentorship to the development team. Participate in code reviews and evaluation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize software solutions. Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders, including developers, product managers, and executives
• Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of the software architecture
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating relevant advancements into the architecture
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the architecture and development processes
• Provide thought leadership and represents ISC externally in technology conferences and events

Preferred Qualifications

• Snowflake expertise a plus
• Experience with vector databases, machine learning and GenAI – a strong plus
• Experience in the claims or insurance industry – a strong plus
• Experience with event streaming platforms such as Kafka, AWS Kinesis or IBM MQ – a plus
