Summary

The job is for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Mad Collective, a high-growth company with hybrid remote work. The CTO will lead tech development teams in Barcelona, guide product strategy, manage systems, foster engineering culture, and have a minimum of 5 years in a senior technology leadership role.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years in a senior technology leadership role (VP or C-level)
• Experience running and scaling systems ideally in a B2B/B2C environment for more than 5 years
• Proven experience leading high-performance teams whilst retaining and growing careers within the team
• Strong business and product understanding
• Proven technical background with a strong understanding of architecture, managing technical debt, and driving the appropriate strategy to balance pragmatic choices
• Proven experience developing data-led products, using AI / ML
• Highly analytical, strong on data, and extracting valuable insights from multiple data sources
• A confident and inspirational leader, combined with a proper level of emotional intelligence
• Experience being part of an executive team and capable of influencing and helping to shape the strategy of the company
• Strong, structured thinker and communicator at all levels

Responsibilities

• Guide tech development teams and work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure rapid delivery and platform scalability
• Inherit an extremely talented team of +40 engineers, providing leadership and direction in terms of vision, priorities, deliverables, process, discipline, collaboration, and innovation
• Drive a close strategic relationship with the product and business, focusing on communication and collaboration
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and uptime of systems using PHP, Golang, NodeJs, Symfony, Nuxt, AWS services, Datadog, and ELK
• Bring vision and innovative thinking to ensure that our systems remain ahead of the curve
• Foster the creation of great engineering culture, impacting how the team behaves in terms of building products, paying down debt, investing in infrastructure, hiring, and daily routines
