Summary
Join Resultant's Service Delivery Team as an experienced Network Engineer to tackle challenging problems and contribute to our rapid growth. You will serve as a Tier 3 escalation point, lead troubleshooting and problem resolution for network functions, diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, and perform root cause analysis. Responsibilities include working with clients on change requests, interfacing with vendors, providing technical assistance and training, and implementing network monitoring and alerting. You will also administer site infrastructure, respond to outages, monitor network capacity, and establish network standards. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, along with expertise in network systems, security, and cloud networking. Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in routing, switching, and load balancing
- Bachelorβs degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience
- Expertise with network systems, standards (LAN, WAN, MPLS, SD-WAN) and protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, OSPF
- In-depth knowledge of network security including NGFW, IPS, IDS and VPNs
- Cloud Networking experience (Azure required, AWS, Google)
- Experience planning, designing, and deploying network architectures
- Proven ability in network capacity and performance planning and monitoring
- Thorough understanding of 802.11 principles
- Strong ability with end-user device connectivity
- In-depth knowledge of QoS and traffic shaping
- Knowledge of 802.1X implementation strategies
- Proven ability to analyze and solve network incidents
- Experience in executing medium-to-large-scale projects
- Excellent communication and client service skills, both written and oral, including a proven ability to create detailed technical documentation
- Strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Serve as an escalation point for Tier 3 System Administrators
- Lead troubleshooting and decisive problem resolution for recovery of network functions from failure or degradation, including switching, routing, telephony, and telecom circuitry with both on premise infrastructure and public cloud where applicable
- Diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software network problems in a timely and accurate fashion
- Perform root cause analysis to eliminate reoccurring incidents
- Provide on-call support as needed
- Work with clients to interpret, clarify, and implement change requests on network-related solutions
- Interface with vendor / manufacturer technical personnel for client problems that cannot be resolved effectively
- Communicate with clients, keeping them informed of progress and notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
- Provide technical assistance, training, and mentorship as needed to other technical resources including end-users and staff
- Institute monitoring and alerting across all networks with automated and documented escalation procedures
- Administer and maintain site infrastructure, including network connectivity, and Internet access
- Respond to emergency network outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans
- Monitor and identify network capacity and performance issues to maximize efficiency of company communication systems
- Review customer operations for improving business process opportunities
- Establish standards for LAN, WAN and WLAN devices and associated connectivity
- Configure and support physical and virtual network devices, while maintaining accurate network documentation
- Delivering assigned operational commitments to customers, utilizing the entire customer team as necessary and as agreed upon with the Systems Administrator Manager
Preferred Qualifications
Technical Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, BCNE, NSE6, JNCIE, ACDP, etc. are highly desirable
