This remote, permanent role requires extensive Cisco experience and involves ensuring robust, compliant, and optimized network operations for an enterprise client. You will collaborate with teams, remediate compliance issues, lead 802.1X and NAC deployments, design and implement Cisco-based network solutions, and provide Tier 2 and 3 support. Requirements
- Education: Bachelorβs in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in enterprise-level network engineering
- Experience supporting CCNP-level responsibilities and tasks
- Proven expertise in Cisco routers, switches, ASA/Firepower firewalls, and wireless technologies
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, and TCP/IP
- Familiarity with JIRA for work intake and tracking
- Certifications (preferred): CCNA, CCNP (must)
Responsibilities
- Network Compliance & Remediation
- Collaborate with enterprise teams to remediate Farm Breaks and NDSS-related compliance issues
- Review, update, and maintain network data in tools like NASH, Sevone, ServiceNow, and Verum
- Generate compliance reports and drive continuous improvements to reduce violations
- 802.1X & NAC Deployment
- Lead deployment of 802.1X authentication and Network Access Control (NAC) solutions across global regions
- Troubleshoot and optimize authentication strategies and maintain deployment documentation
- Network Design & Implementation
- Design, configure, and implement Cisco-based network solutions (routers, switches, firewalls, WAPs, VPN)
- Execute network upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime
- Maintain configuration documentation and topology diagrams
- Network Maintenance & Support
- Monitor network performance and resolve performance issues proactively
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support and perform root cause analysis for incidents
- Maintain up-to-date device configurations and firmware
- Network Security
- Manage network security infrastructure including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and ensure security compliance
- Optimization & Monitoring
- Enhance network performance using QoS, bandwidth management, and traffic analysis
- Leverage monitoring tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, Cisco DNA Center
- Collaboration & Leadership
- Work cross-functionally with IT teams to ensure seamless network operations
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives
- Documentation
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, procedures, and incident history
Preferred Qualifications
- CCIE (nice to have)
- Scripting skills in Python or similar
- Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
