Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field
  • Previous experience in clinical research, preferably in the healthcare or speech-language pathology sector
  • Strong understanding of research methodologies and statistical analysis techniques
  • Deep domain knowledge of language sample analysis techniques, including transcription, analysis of morphosyntactic structures, speech/language sampling protocols, and proficiency in interpreting results within the context of clinical speech-language pathology
  • Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods with the ability to design and implement research studies effectively
  • Proficiency in statistical software for data analysis and interpretation with the ability to apply appropriate statistical tests and techniques relevant to speech-language pathology research
  • In-depth understanding of speech-language disorders and evidence-based practices in the field with the ability to collaborate effectively with clinicians to integrate research findings into practice
  • Skill in managing, organizing, and maintaining research data with attention to detail with experience in using data collection tools and electronic health records
  • Familiarity with ethical considerations and regulatory requirements in clinical research with the ability to ensure research adheres to institutional and legal guidelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities for presenting research findings to diverse audiences and the ability to prepare comprehensive reports, grant proposals, and manuscripts
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team with the ability to build relationships with clinicians, researchers, and stakeholders
  • Analyze complex issues and develop innovative solutions with strong critical thinking skills to evaluate research methodologies and outcomes
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple research projects simultaneously with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing research needs

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement research studies in alignment with the practice’s goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with speech-language pathologists and other healthcare professionals to identify research opportunities
  • Collect, manage, and analyze data using appropriate statistical methods
  • Prepare research proposals, manuscripts, and presentations for conferences and publications
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements in research activities
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of research projects and report findings to stakeholders
