Summary

Join StackAdapt as their Commercial Counsel, reporting to the Commercial Counsel, Enterprises and Alliances! This key role within the Legal team supports the Revenue/sales organization, driving commercial transactions while ensuring compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in commercial transactions, a deep understanding of IP issues and data licensing, and excellent collaboration skills. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage legal risks in a fast-paced environment are essential. This remote-first position is open to candidates in Canada or the US, with occasional travel required. It offers the chance to play a key role in an expanding Legal team at a high-growth tech company.

Requirements

  • Practical, business-minded lawyer with significant professional experience in an inhouse and/or reputable firm setting; US or Global experience is preferred
  • Call to the Bar in one or more Canadian Provinces or one or more US states, with active license to practice law in such jurisdiction(s)
  • In house experience in advertising, technology, adtech, data, or media company
  • Able to β€œown” and manage projects from beginning to end, with an internally driven sense of follow through
  • Excellent legal and business judgment and proven ability to balance legal risks and business strategy
  • Exceptional writing skills, and an ability to create original drafted documents
  • A desire to mentor and educate non-legal team members in a constructive and motivational way, consistent with StackAdapt culture and values
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • A positive, collaborative spirit, and a learning mindset
  • Adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, and enjoy a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Structure, negotiate and draft a wide range of commercial agreements
  • Provide legal advice to key stakeholders on commercial and legal matters within the business
  • Provide thought leadership internally and externally
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and training to StackAdapters
