Commercial Legal Counsel

Summary

Join Deel, a leading global payroll and HR platform, as a Legal Counsel and contribute to the company's mission of unlocking global opportunity. You will play a crucial role in ensuring global compliance with intellectual property transfer agreements, drafting and reviewing commercial and corporate agreements, providing legal advice on various topics, and assisting with client and vendor agreements. This position requires 2+ years of experience in a legal department or law firm, strong analytical and negotiation skills, fluency in English, and the ability to work independently and master new areas.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in the legal department of a company or at a law firm, in the Technology department
• A member in good standing with the bar in the jurisdiction where you will practice
• Have the ability to analyze foreign legislation, manage global compliance, and think outside the box
• Proven ability to work independently and to master new areas on your own
• An exceptional negotiator with excellent judgment in balancing legal risks with business strategy
• Great attention to detail and organizational skills
• You are fluent in English (native level required)
• You have good written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assisting in ensuring global compliance with intellectual property transfer agreements and related mechanisms
• Drafting and reviewing commercial and corporate agreements
• Assisting in providing accurate, relevant, and timely advice on legal topics (e.g., fintech, labor laws, corporate matters, etc.)
• Assisting with the review and negotiation of client and vendor agreements, and supporting internal compliance efforts
• Handling and assisting with a variety of other issues and projects as they arise
