Summary
Join the Council of Women World Leaders as an intern and contribute to their mission of promoting good governance and gender equality. You will manage social media content, track performance, maintain the website and newsletter, coordinate events, and update databases. This role requires strong social media management, design, and project management skills. The ideal candidate is enrolled in a degree program and has experience in communications and non-profit work. The internship offers valuable experience in a global organization dedicated to women leaders.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Have proven experience in managing social media platforms and creating content
- Have experience tracking and analyzing social media metrics to grow followers and engagement
- Possess proficiency in Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or other design software
- Have experience in website design and maintenance
- Demonstrate strong organization and project management skills
- Have the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
- Have the ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and handle stress
- Meet regular attendance/tardiness policy
- Have a personal laptop or computer and access to the internet
- Be available to work a maximum of 29 hours per week during Eastern work hours
- Be authorized to work in the United States
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent messaging and engaging posts across the Council’s social media accounts (Instagram, LinkedIn, and X)
- Regularly create, post, and engage on social media
- Provide regular reports on social media performance, insights, audience reached and trends to the marketing team
- Enhance the aesthetic appeal of the Council’s website
- Ensure the Council’s website is up to date with Council events and members' engagement
- Maintain and update the quarterly newsletter
- Draft invitations for Council events
- Maintain and update the Council membership contact database
- Keep track of elections worldwide to know when women become heads of state or government of their countries
- Regularly track which Council members are sitting heads of state or government, and which are no longer sitting heads of state or government and update databases, and website accordingly
- Track news developments related to the council members
- Utilize the Council database and conduct independent research to identify and arrange speaking engagement opportunities for members
- Set up monthly Council meetings, organize the agenda and run the meetings
Preferred Qualifications
Have a background in communications, social media, and non-profit work
