Remote Communications Manager

Summary

Wealthfront is seeking a Communications Manager to support consumer and corporate communications efforts and increase awareness of the company. The role involves building relationships with media contacts, developing creative pitches, collaborating with teams, staying informed about financial trends, and monitoring the media landscape. The position requires 5-7 years of experience in fast-paced communications teams, deep knowledge of the media landscape, experience working with executive level spokespeople, strong communication skills, self-starter mentality, ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience working in fast-paced communications teams
• Deep knowledge of the overall media landscape and experience placing stories in top-tier publications
• Experience working with and securing media opportunities for executive level spokespeople
• Strong communicator with a determination to find new ways to tell stories and reach new audiences
• Strong self-starter and problem solver
• Ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
• Curiosity and desire to learn more about both the fintech and financial services industries. Background in fintech is a huge plus, but not a requirement

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with personal finance and investing reporters and proactively communicate the Wealthfront story
• Develop creative and timely pitches to secure coverage highlighting Wealthfront’s product suite
• Work cross functionally with product marketing teams to support product announcements throughout the year
• Stay on top of money and investing trends and work with spokespeople to create quick-turn media commentary
• Work closely with the data science and consumer insights teams to build and place stories that highlight Wealthfront’s data and show interesting trends among our clients
• Monitor the media landscape and recommend new media opportunities
