Summary

Join Rover, a company dedicated to making pet parenthood easier, as a Sr. Compensation Analyst. You will play a key role in developing, analyzing, and evolving compensation programs that support the business. This position involves collaborating with the Sr. Director of Total Rewards, Finance, and international HR leaders to ensure competitive compensation strategies. You will also be responsible for market analysis, pay structure development, and providing pay support and advice to various levels of the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of compensation practices, relevant laws and regulations, and the ability to work with data and systems to make informed recommendations.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of work specializing in financial analysis or compensation analysis within a complex, multinationalย  organization required
  • Experience implementing and maintaining business systems such as compensation planning tools and processes required
  • Extensive analytical skills with highly advanced knowledge of both MS Excel and Google Sheets with the ability to export and review data from a variety of complex systems and tools required
  • Demonstrated ability to develop data to influence decision-makers, including the executive team, hiring managers and HR colleagues required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with a strong
  • Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in a related field, required

Responsibilities

  • Partners with Sr. Director of Total Rewards to develop, analyze, and evolve compensation programs that support the business
  • Partner with Finance on long term incentive plan design, documentation, and implementation
  • Provides pay support and advice on new hires, promotions, and transfers for positions up through executive level roles
  • Performs labor market analysis and pay structure development to attract and retain key talent
  • Evaluate and market price positions at all levels of the organization utilizing external market data and internal position comparisons to make salary recommendations to ensure alignment with the broad-based compensation structure
  • Reviews existing compensation programs and makes recommendations to improve market alignment to the Sr. Director of Total Rewards and other organizational leaders as appropriate
  • Partner with international HR leaders to monitor local compensation issues and challenges, and make recommendations as appropriate
  • Support annual bonus calculation process
  • Stays current on industry compensation practices and legal issues, assessing and communicating potential business impact to senior leaders
  • Maintains understanding of applicable laws and regulations including FLSA, Equal Pay Act, ADA, Sarbanes-Oxley and others
  • Supports efforts to ensure employee and leadership understanding of compensation-related programs and practices through ongoing education and training
  • Engage in the analysis and resolution of compensation related issues
  • Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures, in support of the strategic objectives and evolving external requirements
  • Administer the annual salary review program, including merit increases and promotions, as well as bonus payments
  • Evaluate new jobs, promotions, and reclassifications and recommend compensation elements for positions, including base and incentive pay, market range, and placement within our global salary band structure
  • Serve as compensation consultant to department managers and HR Business Partners
  • Support the benefits and HR team as needed
  • Partners with the Sr. Director of Total Rewards to prepare materials for the executive team, compensation committee and the overall board of directors on various compensation topics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of HR operations procedures and hands-on experience supporting major compensation programs such as annual merit planning and processing, long term incentive planning and performance management strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of human resources and compensation including knowledge of relevant Federal, State, and local laws/regulations relating to compensation preferred
  • Certified Compensation Professional a plus
  • Experience managing incentive program design and administration
